With proteins coming from chicken meal, menhaden fish and eggs, this is a protein-rich kibble.This is devoid of any common allergens making it ideal for pets with itchy skin/allergies.
Performance Active 26K is Kinetic’s answer for active dogs who need high energy levels. The 26K refers to the 26% protein content it contains. Combined with 16% fat, this kibble is able to sustain dogs through intense activity sessions of one to two-hour increments.
A variety of animal proteins — chicken meal, chicken by-product-meal, menhaden fish meal, and egg — contribute heavily to keep dogs in top shape.
The proteins help build lean muscle mass, supply amino acids to the tendons and ligaments, and can be broken down into glucose to supply energy to cells.
There are no corn, wheat, or soy products in this formula, but it is not grain-free. Brewers rice, sorghum, and brown rice supply the carbohydrate and fiber needs of dogs.
This doesn’t follow a dog’s ancestral diet, but is completely balanced in its own way. And grains are a healthy source of nutrients that all support the skin, hair, and immune systems of dogs.

Although considered quite safe, a recipe with chicken by-product meal might not be for pet parents who wish for whole or premium ingredients. But if you’re looking for one that does its function well — provide performance-enhancing energy — this recipe is it.

All puppies go through a growth spurt that can put a lot of pressure on their little bodies if not fully supported. This Kinetic recipe offers a supportive approach for the healthy and controlled growth of medium to large breed pups.
It contains elevated levels of protein (28%) and fat (15%) to help puppies during their rapid growth stage and keep them in top-top shape. Chicken and chicken-byproduct meal lead the way in this recipe, contributing most of the protein, although sorghum also lends a bit of plant-based content.
To give the diet its carbohydrate content, Kinetic added grain ingredients in the form of sorghum, brown rice, and brewer’s rice. Grains are healthy for dogs, and to correct common misconception, they’re also highly digestible for canines. Dogs are omnivores, and they thrive just as well on a grain-inclusive diet as they do on a grain-free one.
Carbohydrates can give your puppies a quick burst of energy, but they’re not the only nutrients that grain contains. This kibble is designed specially for working dogs or canines who frequently undergo high levels of intense activity. It’s crafted to help dogs through periods of intense workouts in three to four-hour increments.
Two types of animal protein lead the way in this recipe — chicken meal and chicken by-product meal. Because this diet uses meals instead of fresh chicken, it raises the protein content a lot.
Chicken meal is the result of cooking fresh chicken to eliminate moisture. The food retains most of its nutrients, but because of the decreased water content, the chicken meal will now contain more protein than fresh meat of equal weight.
A by-product meal isn’t really what could be considered a premium ingredient. In fact, it’s a lot cheaper because by-products utilize offal and bones, cartilages, feet, beaks, and other parts of the animal.
It doesn’t sound pretty, but offal contains a lot more nutrition than your usual muscle meat. And it does serve its purpose of raising the protein content (to 32%) while keeping this food affordable.
This recipe contains 24% fat content. While regular dogs only need around 15% of fat in their diet, performance dogs need way higher. High fat foods increase their strength, oxygen utilization, and cardiovascular performance.
Previous studies have shown that dogs fed a high-fat diet tend to do better in terms of endurance than those who were subsisting on low-fat meals.
It also contains L-carnitine for helping canines maintain a healthy weight; omega fatty acids from a selection of fish, sunflower and flaxseed oils; and glucosamine for healthy hips and joints.

No need to look for another dog food
I feed this to our GSP and GSDs. Our GSD is all black, and his coat is the best it looked ever. Our GSP has been on it since he was a pup and we will never switch dog foods. He maintains weight, his coat is shiny, & his stools are firm. We up his feeding by a cup during hunting season and he will hunt all day. Kinetic 30k is nutrient dense, so a little food goes a long way. Also, you can switch between all Kinetic foods with no discomfort to your dog. I have been using this for a few months now. We have used other brands and usually have a tough time keeping weight on the dogs especially during hunting season.
